Role: Senior Machine Operator

Our client, a thriving manufacturing company based in Bolton, is looking for Senior Machine Operators to join their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of various food processing machines.

Your expertise will contribute to the production of high-quality food products while ensuring the safety and efficiency of the manufacturing processes.

What the client offers:

- Full-time schedule: Monday to Friday, morning or afternoon shift

-Morning 6am-2:30pm/ Afternoon 2:30pm-11pm

Responsibilities:

Set up machines according to production requirements, ensuring proper calibration, speed and product specifications
Carry out routine inspections to ensure machines are in optimum working order, identifying and resolving any problems or malfunctions
Perform regular maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating and replacing parts, to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity
Collaborate with the production team to ensure a continuous workflow, coordinating machine set-ups, changeovers and equipment maintenance
Monitor machine performance, production output and quality control measures to meet established targets and standards
Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related problems, implementing corrective actions and escalating complex problems to the management team
Train and mentor junior machine operators, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and promote safe working environment
Ensure that junior machine operators correctly complete the on-line tracking system to provide downtime data to management
Keep accurate records of machine operation, maintenance activities and production data

Qualifications:

3 to 5 years' experience as a machine operator in the food industry, with good knowledge of food processing equipment and techniques
Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve machine malfunctions
High school diploma or GED
Health & Safety Certificate 1&2 and Step 5 Health & Safety Certified. First aid certificate
Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards in the food industry
Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings and diagrams to carry out machine set-up and maintenance
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and lift loads up to 55 lbs
Reliability and sense of responsibility
Ability to work as part of a team
Attention to detail, ability to learn and think quickly
