WHO IS THE WAREHOUSE MANAGER?
The Warehouse Manager will play a key role in the opening of our newest store in St. Catharines by providing support to store management with all aspects of strategic warehousing along with situational leadership, human resource management, budget accountabilities, and back-of-store operations.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and indirectly to the Director of Warehousing and Distribution, you are a seasoned warehouse leader whose positivity and demonstrated operational efficiency leads to proven success.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOMPLISHING IN THE ROLE
• Adherence to budget as it relates to the warehouse and investigating and explaining root cause behind variances or incremental spend
• Act as the key warehouse liaison for Sales
• Operational management of 3rd party vendors
• Analyzing, managing, and reporting all service metrics and KPIs related to warehouse capacity (short and long-term)
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the warehouse
• Develop and ensure compliance with Standard operating procedures & controls
• Utilize Lean initiatives to identify cost savings, reduce waste and increase efficiencies
• Meet Customer Requirements by ensuring on-time shipping
• Hire, onboard, motivate, train, develop and coach associates
• Responsible for ensuring legal compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, Employment Standards, Human Rights and the Transportation Act
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Experience
• 5 years experience as a Warehouse or Logistics Supervisor/Manager
Skills and Abilities
• Proven ability to lead a group of people and operate in a changing environment
• Experience with complex distribution networks and managing warehouses and transportation
• Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills
• Strong financial acumen and fiduciary responsibility
• Excellent business acumen with strong negotiation and process development skills
• Experience leading projects and strong project management skills
• The ability to resolve complex issues
• Availability to work full-time hours which includes holiday shifts as well as peak periods such as March Anniversary and Boxing Week
