The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Red Deer, AB is currently hiring a Chemical / High Pressure Operator to join their safety conscious team! This position is responsible for operating High Pressure, Chemical and Industrial units for the transportation of hazardous and nonhazardous waste from a client site to our Clean Harbors facility and/or an outside disposal facility.

Please be advised it is mandatory for candidates to hold valid First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSO/CSTS safety certifications prior to starting this position. Proof of certifications will be requested during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Ensure proper operation of industrial units and loading/unloading of hazardous waste/non-hazardous waste;
  • Maintain and clean assigned company equipment as well as ensure equipment is mechanically sound and in good working order at all times;
  • Complete the proper documentation for the job using handheld units and/or paper documenting techniques, including pre/post trips;
  • Responsible for maintaining daily logs, worksheets timecard, expense reports, dispatch & trip reports and vehicle inspection reports.
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?
  • Class 1 license is preferred, Class 3 license is required;
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience is required;
  • Minimum 1 year of Vacuum truck experience is preferred;
  • Previous experience hauling hazardous waste preferred;
  • Regulatory safety tickets considered a strong asset (e.g. First Aid w/ CPR, H2S, Confined Space Entry);
  • Willingness to travel up to a week at a time.
