We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.
- Define and document architecture of next generation modems based on functional specifications.
- Plan and schedule design tasks, specify required resources, tools and processes.
- Create and publish design guidelines, how-to documents, and setup guides in Confluence.
- Chair code review and document review meetings, publish and track minutes/features/bugs in Confluence/Jira.
- Monitor, analyze and improve design procedures.
- Supervise, mentor and train junior engineers, provide technical feedback.
- Interface and collaborate with h/w-, f/w-, e/o-, systems- and lab teams.
- Define and implement algorithms, measurement-/calibration procedures, and performance metrics for next generation modems.
- 5+ years of design, implementation, and verification of digital signal processing algorithms for ASIC or FPGA applications
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills: Must be able to gather and understand complex system requirements and translate them into discrete signal processing features.
- Expert knowledge in digital communication (optical and/or wireless) and signal processing
- Expert knowledge in all modem design aspects: Architecture, simulation, prototyping, verification, integration, control and optimization.
- Experience with automated RTL code generation from high level system design languages such as CatapultC.
- Programming skills: Must have Matlab, C and C++ experience (on Linux). CatapultC, Verilog, HTML would be an asset. Must be willing to learn CatapultC and/or similar hardware system design languages.
- Software tools: MS Office, MS Project, Confluence, Jira, Eclipse, etc.
- Experience in ESD protected lab environment; familiar with standard lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, power supplies, and spectrum analyzers
