What we are looking for:
Fiera is looking for a Lead, Pricing and Public Market Valuations who is passionate and appreciates the importance of the process of pricing assets. The role is aimed at a self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines with a high level of attention to detail. The candidate must be innovative and flexible in responding to a rapidly changing environment. The candidate must demonstrate competency in communication with different audiences.
The role will be part of the Global Data Management Team who oversees multiple data domains globally across Fiera, including but not limited to pricing, security masters, ratings, and indices. Specifically, the Lead, Pricing and Public Market Valuations role will have the primary responsibility to oversee the pricing and valuation of all public market investments across all public investments. The ideal candidate must have a proven expertise in pricing operations and the valuations of public market investments.
Your responsibilities:
Oversight of daily pricing of assets and lead public market valuations.
Responsible of the oversight of the pricing of all public market and private market investments that include equities, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives, private placements, loans, limited partnerships and bank debt;Ensure timely and accurate valuation of assets under management;Responsible for data quality and for ensuring high business confidence in the data;Collect and ensure receipt of prices from various vendors of public market securities;Review and validate daily key quality control reports in support of pricing using various tools and applications;Develop and maintain controls to ensure all assets are valued correctly in the system;Continuously evaluate, identify and recommend best practices and controls that will increase process efficiency and mitigate financial and operational risks;Ownership of the controls and auditing pertaining to pricing;Organize and provide minutes on the quarterly Public Markets Valuation Committee meeting. With supporting documents, the candidate is responsible for providing a good understanding of potential valuation issues and bring to the forefront valuation situations;Train, mentor and develop your team as well as your colleagues on pricing and valuation analysis by using a supportive and collaborative approach;INNOVATION & TOOLING: Create innovative solutions
Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures toward industry best practicesParticipate and take ownership of various projects to enhance risk controls and reportingDevelop close relationships with the different business segments to foster the integration from front to back offices Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce or related field;Master's degree in finance, financial engineering, actuary or a related field an advantage;Professional designation in finance (CBV, PRM, FRM, CFA or CAIA) an advantage;5-7 years of relevant experience;Comfortable with presenting in front of committee and senior executives;Must have experience in leading and managing teams, both onshore and offshore;Exceptional organizational & time management skills, be able to prioritize, make decision with ambiguity and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;Proven knowledge in pricing of both public and private market investments that include equity, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives, Private Placements, Loans, LP's and Bank Debt;Understanding of master data management practices including security master setups and ratings a significant advantage;Programming skills: SQL, PYTHON, C++, C#, R, MATLAB, SAS or related a bonus.The use of masculine is for the sole purpose of lightening the text and refers to both women and men.
