POSITION OVERVIEW
The Advisor, Employee Communications, is responsible for communicating internal corporate communications and developing and executing communications plans for specific initiatives and projects. They also are a writer and editor for BDC's internal publications (intranet, newsletters, presentations, etc.) and ensure that content is always accurate and of high-quality aligned with BDC style and brand. The Advisor also oversees the employee question and answer forum and supports coordination activities in support of large-scale projects.
CHALLENGES TO BE MET
Primarily, this specialist role is to:
Be responsible for communicating internal corporate communications and developing and executing communications plans for specific initiatives and projects.
Assist in the planning, development and execution of recurring employee publications and ensure they respect BDC's style and brand, with a focus on content development and/or review.
Oversee and manage the employee question and answer forum (Perspectives).
Work in close collaboration with the Director, Employee Communications and Senior Advisors, as well as other key internal partners, to ensure alignment and optimal use of communication channels and tools.
Supports the execution of communication tactics and coordination activities for large-scale projects or initiatives, including developing ad hoc communications, html publication, etc.
Contribute to the development of the employee communications strategy.
Gather insights to continuously improve the employee experience and use it to actively contribute to the development and execution of the employee communications strategy.
Keep abreast of trends and developments in the communication field and their impact on BDC and make recommendations to enhance communications.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in communications, including relevant experience in employee communications
University degree in public relations/ communications/journalism (or other)
Fully bilingual and excellent written and oral communication skills, in both official languages
Ability to handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, with often short deadlines
Excellent interpersonal skills and embraces diversity and inclusion
Team player with a strong client focus and problem-solving approach
Proficient in Microsoft Office environment and digital tools (previous experience with working html)
Working knowledge of DreamWeaver an asset
Previous experience in content development related to human resources and diversity and inclusion an asset
