What we are looking for:
Under the supervision of the Senior Investment Officer, Private Markets, the Analyst is responsible to support governance and coordination activities of the CIO Office: investment due diligence, liquidity management, transparency reports, market research, as well as other related tasks.
Your responsibilities:
As part of his/her duties, the selected candidate will be assigned the following responsibilities:
Routinely monitor positions, cash levels, outstanding commitments of the suite of private alternatives (alts) funds;Collect, update and review exposure reports on monthly basis, ensure client reporting and operations is effective and efficient;Improve efficiency in the investment process by automating as much as possible the tools where exposure reports are captured, build historical data as well as related power point presentations;Assist in preparing materials prior to internal and external meetings, capturing meetings minutes, and saving all documents, reports, and notes in the relevant internal systems;Arrange and complete Quarterly Reviews, comprising of investment and operational overview, with underlying internal and external managers;Perform Annual Due Diligence Review, comprising of investment and operational overview, on the underlying internal and external managers;Write up Investment Committee Reports and maintain Proprietary Scoring Models, where required;Update Investment Committee Reports, track changes, and highlight any major changes or breaches;Source and present new investment ideas;Help gather and evaluate market research and its relevance on portfolio construction;Conduct Performance Analysis using tools such as eVestmen;Assist the Private Alternatives CIO Office with any other investments or operational related tasks. Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field;Professional designation in finance (CBV, FRM, CFA or CAIA) considered an asset;MBA or Finance related Master's degree also considered an asset;Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Private investments;Proven knowledge of financial markets;Understanding of the general portfolio management process;Exceptional organizational & time management skills, be able to prioritize, make decisions under ambiguity and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;Work well in a dynamic, fast-moving team-based environment;Process oriented, organized, autonomous, interpersonal;Strong attention to detail and accuracy;Ability to think independently when dealing with stakeholders that have conflicting needs;Must be comfortable programming in at least two of the following languages: SQL, VBA, VB.NET, PYTHON, C#, R, MATLAB, SAS or any other relevant programming languages;Mastery of software applications such as Excel and PowerPoint;Strong English oral and written communication skills, French proficiency is an asset.The use of masculine is for the sole purpose of lightening the text and refers to both women and men.
