Job Summary

The Property Accountant is a key member of the accounting team who works collaboratively to deliver consistent, accurate, and timely information to all internal stakeholders. You will research and analyze financial information to help the company make well informed decisions.

  • Analyze and interpret balance sheets and income statements and provide financial/management reports as
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial
  • Review journal entries at month-end for accuracy and trends.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts for all properties in
  • Inter-company
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for portfolio of properties on monthly
  • Review and support tenant
  • Prepare payments from corporate bank accounts and manage the cash
  • Coordinate and work with accounting team to ensure deadlines are
  • Prepare and maintain necessary continuity
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • Ensuring that all duties are performed in compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act as they
  • Prepare variance analysis reports
  • Identify and analyze problems and recommend appropriate
  • Assist Property Managers with financial accounting inquiries and
  • Maintain an understanding of property specific processes and maintenance of pertinent information relating to specific properties or processes and bring forward recommendations for process improvements and system
  • Assist in the development of financial forecasts and budgets while also providing regular analysis and recommendations to the benefit of the
  • Overseeing common area expense reconciliations, property taxes, insurance, and management

  • Minimum 5 years combined experience in accounting and
  • Previous experience strongly desired in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial
  • Commercial Property Management
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed their CA or CMA designation.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications (Word, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving
