Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Environmental Monitor to join our team for various projects.

Work Locations:

This position will be based out of our Vancouver office

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform environmental compliance audits independently or as a team member
• Conduct site visits to make observations and gather information to evaluate compliance with environmental permits and environmental protection plans (EPPs)
• Assist Environmental Manager in updating environmental plans and permits
• Prepare technical summary reports following field work
• Work in the field operating computer pad to record key field data
• Willing to support team needs on occasion conducting physical work (including hand digging, moving pumps and hoses, heavy lifting)
• Fill in for other roles onsite (security kiosk, sediment and erosion control crew, etc.)
• Prepare technical summary reports following field work

Skills / Qualifications

• Diploma in Environmental Technologies. Bachelor's degree in Environmental would be an asset, but not a requirement
• Minimum of 3 years' experience working in the environmental field as a field technician
• Comfortable with handheld computer devices
• Able to work 10+ hour days (rain or shine) in the field conducting monitoring, and/or supporting field activities
• Able to wear a respirator (if necessary, training provided)
• HAZWOPER training a plus
