Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an Environmental Monitor to join our team for various projects.
Work Locations:
This position will be based out of our Vancouver office
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform environmental compliance audits independently or as a team member
- Conduct site visits to make observations and gather information to evaluate compliance with environmental permits and environmental protection plans (EPPs)
- Assist Environmental Manager in updating environmental plans and permits
- Prepare technical summary reports following field work
- Work in the field operating computer pad to record key field data
- Willing to support team needs on occasion conducting physical work (including hand digging, moving pumps and hoses, heavy lifting)
- Fill in for other roles onsite (security kiosk, sediment and erosion control crew, etc.)
- Prepare technical summary reports following field work
Skills / Qualifications
- Diploma in Environmental Technologies. Bachelor's degree in Environmental would be an asset, but not a requirement
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working in the environmental field as a field technician
- Comfortable with handheld computer devices
- Able to work 10+ hour days (rain or shine) in the field conducting monitoring, and/or supporting field activities
- Able to wear a respirator (if necessary, training provided)
- HAZWOPER training a plus
