Responsibilities

Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Maintenance and Operations, the Maintenance Worker III is responsible for mechanical, electrical, ventilation, air conditioning and fire alarm systems and equipment inspections, maintenance and repair services for staff and patients at Cumberland County Health. The work of the Maintenance Worker III is subject to conflicting priorities, demanding deadlines and time pressures. Grounds Maintenance (Snow removal and Landscaping).

This position requires travel to various locations and as such access to transportation is required.

Qualifications

* Successful completion of academic Grade 12 or equivalent required.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* Minimum of four years of demonstrated knowledge and experience in a minimum of five of the following areas/trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry control systems, diesel engine repair, welding, electronics, construction methods in health care facilities, appliance repair, fire alarm systems, refrigeration, boilers, and small engine repair required.
* Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
* Understanding of the theories and principles of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and fire alarm systems operation and maintenance required.
* Knowledge of health and safety practices and principles with formal training and certification in Confined Space Entry, First Aid and Workplace Hazardous Material Information System [WHMIS] required.
* Working knowledge of National Building Code, Canadian Standards Association [CSA] standards, Health and Safety codes and Provincial and Municipal codes required.
* Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook and Megamation (work orders) required.
* Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

Hours of Work

Permanent Full-Time position, 75 hours bi-weekly.

Salary Information

$22.8379 - $23.3707 hourly
