A successful candidate in this role will be contributing to development of parallel, highly scalable algorithms for different power and signal integrity electromagnetic solvers based on finite element, method of moments, and circuit methods for the Electronic Business Unit. The candidate will be working closely with other R&D developers, product engineering, and application engineers to design, develop and deliver new technologies in electromagnetic simulation of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and packages. A successful candidate will have a proven track record in computational electromagnetics and hybrid solver technology. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems Understands and employs best practices Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues Works under the general supervision of a development manager Research and development of numerical algorithms for fast and accurate high frequency simulations of PCB and packages capable of running on high performance shared and distributed memory systems Implementing numerical and software features in C++ on time and with upmost quality. Maintaining and supporting current code base. Working together with other teams to ensure integration between products. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years' experience or MS Working experience with electrical modeling and simulation, specifically with numerical methods (Finite Element Method), hybrid solvers and scientific programming (C/C++). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Technical knowledge and experience with power and signal integrity concepts and circuit theory. Knowledge of parallel and distributed systems (threads, message passing and hybrid systems). Prior experience with OpenMP, MPI, or multi-threading is preferred. Experience in a large-scale commercial software development environment Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team CULTURE AND VALUES Culture and values are incredibly important to Ansys.
