We have been asked to exclusively assist an established agricultural equipment and parts manufacturer to find a Logistics/Dispatch Manager for their highly successful and established custom manufacturing/fabrication shop located in beautiful southwest Saskatchewan. Reporting to the GM, you will manage/oversee shipping, receiving, and material handling responsibilities for the organization. You will work, primarily, within a clean and pleasant office environment, along with regular exposure to an active shop floor, physical storage locations, inside and outside, as well as with/around moving machinery.
Job Description
Your responsibilities in this role will include:
- Planning, organizing, directing, managing, and evaluating material management activities
- Conduct materials management related to inventory management and purchasing, production management, and warehouse planning functions
- Operate Forklifts and associated machinery to move, shipmand receive associated product
- Regularly analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability
- Review material management operations and develop key performance indicators (KPI) to measure its effectiveness
- Regularly work with high regard for safety - improving safety procedures; investigating root causes and determine improvements
- Maintain files within their material handling software programs as well as associated paperwork, pick-notes and identifiers
- Coach, train, manage, delegate, and appraise the performance of associated department personnel
Qualifications
To ensure the highest probability of success in this position, the following requirements have been identified:
- 2+ years' experience in a lead, supervisory or management level position
- 5+ years' experience working within a materials management/warehouse/supply chain environment
- A mechanical aptitude to comprehend materials required from design to end-product
- Ability to effectively manage priorities; ensure the timely and accurate completion of assignments
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; take the initiative to get tasks done
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Accurate, detail-oriented focus supported by strong organizational and administrative skills
- Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)
