What you'll be doing
As the new Electrical Engineer, you report directly to the VP of Engineering Operations and will work with numerous stakeholders both internally and externally. You will manage projects, design, and provide hands-on technical troubleshooting as required.
Specifically you will:
* Maintain a range of project management documents
* Develop electrical layouts and drawings
* Review specifications, drawings, order and scope documentation
* Participate in design and risk studies/assessment and energy audits
* Review electrical specifications for compliance, rectify and resolve discrepancies between scope, supply and technical specifications
* Work closely with the team to ensure accurate delivery that meets industry standards, good engineering practices, policies and procedures
* Establish, develop, promote, and maintain relationships with clients and contractors
* Manage projects and potentially lead and participate with internal teams

The Details
This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary, commensurate with experience. You will also receive a benefits package with dental care, extended health care, paid on-site parking and vacation time. During the pandemic, you will work remotely and then return to the Burnaby office when restrictions are lifted. You will be required to travel to clients up to 10-15% of the time with a few travel periods that will last 2-3 weeks at a time, based on client/project requirements.
Qualifications
* P. Eng in BC
* Minimum 5 years of experience in managing electrical projects with the power systems sector
* Hands of troubleshooting experience with electrical power systems
* Minimum 5 years design experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks
* A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
* Ability to travel for projects up to 15%
* Knowledge with the Canadian Electrical Code
* Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including local and remote construction sites
* Experience with Electrical Power System Analysis Software (ETAP) is considered an asset
* Project Management Professional PMP certification is considered an asset
