With pan-Canadian activities and a presence in the U.S., the Group is an important player in numerous market segments.This role sits within Laurentian Bank, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.As a Senior Auditor, Internal Audit and Financial Assurance, you will provide expert support to managers and help guide their thinking by making recommendations to reduce corporate risk, increase profitability and optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Through your understanding of business issues, you will be able to provide advice that will contribute to maintaining effective risk management and help resolve problems as they arise.ResponsibilitiesºPlan mandates that are assigned to you by developing audit strategies and procedures, taking into consideration the scope of the inherent risks to business processes, the Bank's operations and major projects.ºApply audit techniques and procedures based on industry best practices. ºDefine priorities in order to meet budgets and identify solutions for problems that may cause overruns. ºWork together with internal auditors from different areas of expertise on creating integrated processes. ºDraft the audit report and present it to managers. ºGuide others on internal control management. Have extensive experience of efficient controls that help manage various risks. Help the organization to become more aware of such controls. ºBe able to align the Bank's risk appetite with the appropriate control measures.ºUnderstand the more advanced theoretical concepts and best practices requirements underlying corporate governance. Call processes and practices into question in order to consider the best external governance practices.ºDemonstrate active respect for the methodology by requiring minimal guidance and championing it.QualificationsºBachelor in Business Administration (major in finance, accounting or risk management) or a bachelor's degree in a related fieldºRecognized relevant professional designation (CPA, CISA or CIA)ºMinimum of 5 years' internal or external audit experience (as part of a firm)ºGood knowledge of Regulation 52-109ºGood knowledge of professional standards and the COSO/COBIT frameworksºExperience in reviewing and improving business processes, an assetºExcellent judgement, listening skills, interpersonal skills with co-workers and clients, strong team player, reliable and meets deadlines ºLeadership skills and the ability to influence others effectively to achieve goals ºExcellent spoken and written communication skills ºAutonomous, able to prioritize and open to change ºAble to work under pressure ºBilingual (written and spoken) French and EnglishAdditional InformationWe welcome and encourage applications from individuals from all groups, including aboriginal, women, visible minorities, and persons with disabilities, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, creed, family status, national origin, age and gender.
