Job Description:

Prepare standard cuts of meat for sale in retail or wholesale food establishments

Job Requirements:

Experienced Required: 3 years or more OR Completion of a Meat Cutting Certificate Program

Education: Completion of high school, some college/CEGEP/ vocational or technical training

Specific Skills: Cut carcasses, sides and quarters. Cut, trim and prepare specialized cuts of meat, remove bones from meat, prepare special orders.

Additional Skills: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  Work under pressure, tight deadlines, fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, attention to details, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, hand-eye coordination

Essential Skills: Communication, working with others, critical thinking, continuous learning
  • Experience in detailed meat cutting for further added value
  • Knowledge in food safety
  • Experience in production environment deboning beef carcasses
  • Certificate of Meat Cutting Program (preferred)
